The Way of the Cross

Good Friday, April 19, 2019
2:00 pm – 7:00

The Way of the Cross is a modern adaption of a tradition dating back to the fifth century.  The fourteen traditional Stations of the Cross represent key moments in the life of Jesus beginning with his condemnation to death and ending with his burial in the tomb.  A combination of Scripture, prayer, art, and reflection are used to relive the suffering and sacrifice of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

When you arrive ... ... You will be welcomed and receive devotional information. A guide will then take you to each of the fourteen stations. At each station you will view the artist’s interpretation, hear related Scripture, spend time in reflection, and offer a communal prayer. The sanctuary will be open for continued prayer and reflection. Gifted musicians from Aldersgate UMC will offer meditative music during this time. The journey through the fourteen stations will take about one hour.
